This FAQ gives direct answers from currently available primary sources. It focuses on the questions that can be answered before launch: who is making the game, when it releases, where it is listed, what Emma and Koo do, and what the official descriptions say about combat and the world.

For purchase or platform questions, follow the linked official store page for your region. For game-mechanics questions that are not yet documented by the publisher, the honest answer is to wait for the released game and tested player evidence.

01

Release and platforms

Beast of Reincarnation is scheduled for August 4, 2026. Game Freak develops it and Fictions publishes it. Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S and PC and says it will be available with Game Pass on day one. The official Japanese site confirms a PlayStation 5 package product page for Japan.

The official US PlayStation page lists a PS5 version, PS5 Pro Enhanced support, offline play, one player, Remote Play, and DualSense vibration and trigger effects. Steam has an official store page for the PC release. Together, these pages establish the currently announced storefront destinations without assuming that every feature label applies to every platform.

For an actual purchase, use the store page that serves your account. Its edition name, price, bonus, language support, and cancellation terms are the commercial facts that matter. The current US PlayStation page, for example, lists a Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition with different Koo skins, Amber amounts, an Oni’s Hat, Big Dipper sword, and vegetable seedlings.

02

Gameplay and setting

Official sources describe the game as a one-person, one-dog action RPG. Emma uses sword abilities, while Koo can be commanded to use techniques. Xbox compares Koo’s commands to turn-based RPG decision-making and says the pair can capture boss powers as they journey toward the Beast of Reincarnation.

The official PlayStation Blog gives the command loop a specific input: a just guard with Emma earns points for Koo’s skills, and Triangle opens a command menu that slows time while techniques are selected. The PS5 product page also names skill trees, gear, spirit stones, and ranged, stealthy, or aggressive loadouts as customization options.

The setting is Japan in 4026, a world affected by a blighted forest and monstrous threats. The world can change in real time, with plains and wastelands transforming into forests and abrupt changes revealing unseen malefacts. Emma is a Blightborn whose plant-like hair can traverse collapsed bridges and high walls; Koo is described as a malefact and an active combat partner.

03

What the official store pages add

The current US PlayStation store page lists Standard and Digital Deluxe editions. Its product copy names the PS5 features—PS5 Pro Enhanced, Remote Play, offline play, one player, and DualSense vibration and trigger effects—and identifies the current Standard and Digital Deluxe contents. Its overview also gives named customization categories instead of leaving the game as a purely trailer-defined action title.

The PlayStation Blog adds a story and control layer: Emma was born corrupted by blight, Koo is a malefact, a just guard earns points, and the Triangle command menu slows time. Xbox supplies the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and day-one Game Pass wording. Steam supplies the direct PC storefront. Save the region and date with a purchase note. Use each page for the fact it states directly, then check the regional store before treating a commercial offer as your own purchase option.
